Training

A serious text, and a personalized way to learn it.

Our training material covers the foundations of biology, medicine, and machine learning needed to work at their intersection — from statistics and scientific reasoning through frontier methods in diagnosis, drug design, and genomics. It will be available in two complementary formats.

In development

1. The chapter-by-chapter text

Read the full reference sequentially, chapter by chapter — a traditional, deeply structured text with worked examples, rendered mathematics, and figures, designed for focused, linear study.

In development

2. The interactive, LLM-guided path

Sign in with your favorite LLM — ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini — and have concepts broken down interactively as you grow. The pace, depth, and examples adapt to where you are, while staying grounded in the same underlying text.

Personalized training, coming soon

We plan to offer Google sign-in and subscription-based access for a fully personalized training experience — progress tracking, saved notes, and tailored pacing across both learning formats. Details will appear here as they're ready.

Built for real quantitative biology, not just prose.

The training platform renders LaTeX natively, so models and derivations read exactly as they would in a paper or textbook.

For example, a simple logistic model for disease risk uses a sigmoid σ\sigma applied to a linear combination of features xx:

P(y=1x)=σ(wx+b)=11+e(wx+b)P(y=1 \mid x) = \sigma(w^\top x + b) = \dfrac{1}{1 + e^{-(w^\top x + b)}}

And population dynamics under exponential growth with rate rr follow:

dNdt=rN\dfrac{dN}{dt} = r N
